State legislatures across the country have mandated that certain health carriers include specific benefits in their health benefit plan contracts. These are called “mandated benefits,” which can include required health coverage for specific treatments, benefits and providers. The 2010 Affordable Care Act may also have a significant impact on existing state mandate laws which has yet to be determined.
