Reminder: Medicare Part D Disclosure Due to CMS by March 1

The Medicare Modernization Act requires employers that provide prescription drug coverage to Medicare-eligible individuals to complete the Online Disclosure Form to the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to report whether such coverage is creditable prescription drug coverage. Creditable coverage means that the coverage is expected to pay, on average, as much as the standard Medicare prescription drug coverage.

Medicare Announces Special Enrollment Period for Individuals Impacted by Recent Hurricanes

As a result of Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) will make available a special enrollment period for all Medicare beneficiaries to enroll, dis-enroll, or switch Medicare health or prescription drug plans.

In preparation for the Medicare fall open enrollment period, employers sponsoring group health plans that include prescription drug coverageare required to notify all Medicare-eligible individuals whether such coverage is creditable (i.e., that the coverage is expected to pay, on average, as much as the standard Medicare prescription drug coverage).

Medicare Drug Premiums Projected to Decrease in 2018
