Minimum Wage for Minors

Subject to certain exceptions, the minimum hourly wage for an employee who is less than 18 years of age is 85% of the state minimum wage for the first 200 hours of employment, and is equal to the state minimum wage after 200 hours. However, where federal and state law have different minimum wage rates, the higher standard applies.
